The updated Nissan Z is set to arrive in the United States for the 2027 model year, bringing a series of modest changes while retaining the core formula that defines the car.

Under the bonnet, Nissan keeps the twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 engine, delivering 400 hp in standard form. Power is sent to the rear wheels, with buyers able to choose between a six-speed manual gearbox or a nine-speed automatic.
The performance-focused Nismo variant continues to sit at the top of the range, producing 420 hp and featuring chassis and aerodynamic enhancements aimed at sharper handling.

For 2027, updates are relatively minor. The car benefits from small styling tweaks, along with adjustments to equipment and trim options. Nissan is also streamlining the lineup, reducing complexity for buyers while keeping key versions available.
Inside, the cabin largely carries over, maintaining its driver-focused layout and modern digital displays, while offering a balance between classic sports car feel and contemporary tech.

Despite limited changes, the formula remains intact: a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive coupe designed to deliver engaging performance at a relatively accessible price point.
The latest Z continues to target enthusiasts looking for a traditional sports car experience, even as the broader industry shifts toward electrification.
