Skoda has finally unveiled the all new Epiq, a compact electric crossover positioned as an affordable, zero emission alternative to the popular Kamiq. Offering greater interior space, bolder styling and modern technology, it undercuts its petrol sibling with entry prices starting from just €29,450.

This newcomer slots neatly between key rivals including the Renault 4 and Ford Puma Gen-E, sitting close to the recently launched Kia EV2. While competitors benefit from government incentives, the Epiq currently does not. Sales begin in July with the higher spec powertrain delivering up to 438 kilometers of range in SE L and Edition trims, priced from €32,700 and €35,950 respectively. More accessible variants with reduced range follow later, alongside a limited First Edition at €37,100 featuring distinctive Navajo Orange accents inspired by the 2024 concept, plus a sportier SportLine model on the horizon.
The Epiq builds on the strong foundations of the award-winning Elroq, Skoda’s reigning Car of the Year, while sharing the MEB+ platform with the Volkswagen ID. Polo and Cupra Raval. It measures just under 4.2 meters in length, matching the size of the Renault 4 and Ford Puma for easy city driving.

Design stays faithful to the concept with rugged elements like chunky bumpers, roof rails and protective cladding, balanced by contemporary features including the sleek Tech-Deck Face, T-shaped lighting signatures and pill-shaped air intakes inspired by cycling helmet grooves. Eighteen inch alloys are standard, with 20 inch wheels on the First Edition.
Inside, the cabin feels familiar yet refined, featuring a 13 inch central touchscreen, 5.3 inch digital instrument cluster, physical shortcut buttons and sustainable materials. New touches include a horizontal dashboard with ambient lighting and a dedicated charging cable bag. Boot space impresses at 475 liters more than the Kamiq, Kia EV2 and even the Elroq expanding to 1,344 liters with seats folded, thanks to its front wheel drive layout and torsion beam rear suspension. A modest 25 liter frunk adds minor extra storage.

The initial Epiq 55 uses a 52 kWh battery for 438 kilometers of range, supports 105 kW charging (10-80 percent in under 25 minutes) and produces 208 bhp for a 0-100 kph sprint in 7.4 seconds. A later Epiq 40 variant with a 37 kWh battery targets around 306 kilometers. Standard equipment includes LED headlights, adaptive cruise control and multiple driver aids, with higher trims adding luxuries like heated seats and advanced assistance systems.
