BMW appears to have inadvertently revealed a large portion of its 2027 model-year lineup after publishing vehicle names on its U.S. website shop page before quickly removing them. The short-lived listing offered an early glimpse at upcoming models spanning performance coupes, electric SUVs and flagship sedans, suggesting a significant refresh across much of the brand’s range.
Among the most notable entries was the 2027 BMW M2 xDrive, indicating that the smallest M car is set to receive all-wheel drive for the first time after years as a rear-wheel-drive purist favorite. The next-generation 3-Series also surfaced under the M350 xDrive name, pointing to a new M Performance variant expected to replace the current M340i.
Electrification featured prominently in the leaked names. The long-anticipated BMW i3, based on the Neue Klasse platform, was listed alongside multiple variants of the BMW iX3, including 40 sDrive, 40 xDrive and 50 xDrive trims. A new BMW iX4 also appeared in both 40 xDrive and 50 xDrive configurations, suggesting a more coupe-like electric crossover to complement the iX3.
In the SUV category, a next-generation BMW X5 40 sDrive was included, along with an electric iX5 60 xDrive, reinforcing BMW’s strategy of offering both combustion and electric powertrains within the same model families. The refreshed 740 xDrive was also listed, hinting at updates for the flagship 7-Series.
Although the listings were quickly removed, their brief appearance underscores BMW’s ongoing transformation. The 2027 lineup appears set to blend traditional performance models with an expanding electric portfolio, reflecting a broader strategy of diversification across nearly every segment.
