BMW Introduces Updated Logo Across Entire Lineup in Subtle Brand Refresh

BMW is preparing to roll out its updated roundel logo across its entire vehicle lineup starting next month, marking a low-key but meaningful shift in the brand’s visual identity. First seen on the iX3 electric SUV last year, the refreshed badge will appear on all new and updated BMW models from February 2026 onward.

The redesign is intentionally subtle. BMW has removed the inner chrome ring that previously separated the black outer circle from the blue-and-white Bavarian quadrants, resulting in a flatter, cleaner appearance. Remaining chrome elements now feature a darker, more subdued finish, while the black background adopts a matte or satin look instead of a glossy one. The lettering has also been slightly refined for a sharper, more precise feel.

This update ties into BMW’s wider design transition as it moves into the Neue Klasse era. That shift includes new electric models, reworked interiors and a more unified identity across both electric and combustion vehicles. The revised logo aims to modernize the brand without abandoning its heritage, keeping the familiar propeller motif while adapting it for both physical vehicles and digital platforms.

BMW is also preparing to introduce an updated M logo for its performance models, though details on that change remain limited for now.

Reactions among enthusiasts have been mixed. Some appreciate the cleaner, more modern look, while others argue the update is so subtle it’s barely noticeable. Either way, it represents the most visible change to BMW’s badge in years.
