Maybach has unveiled the refreshed 2027 GLS 680, introducing a more powerful V8 engine, updated styling and a host of new luxury features for its flagship SUV. Based on the recently updated GLS, the Maybach variant continues to focus on maximum rear seat comfort and exclusivity while benefiting from the latest Mercedes-Benz technology.

Under the bonnet is Mercedes’ latest 4.0 litre twin turbocharged V8, producing 603 hp and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque, an increase of 53 hp and 89 lb-ft over its predecessor. The engine is paired with a second generation 48 volt mild hybrid system, while standard AIRMATIC air suspension and optional E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL deliver an even smoother and more composed ride. Mercedes has also revised the steering for improved precision.

The exterior receives a distinctive new look with an illuminated Maybach grille surround, an illuminated Maybach badge, and, for the first time, an optional illuminated standing Mercedes-Benz star on the bonnet. New 22 inch wheels are fitted as standard, while optional 23 inch forged wheels feature a self righting centre cap that keeps the Mercedes emblem upright at all times.

Inside, the GLS 680 adopts the new MBUX Superscreen powered by MB.OS, Mercedes-Benz’s latest operating system with integrated AI. The cabin also gains rose gold instrument accents, upgraded multi contour seats with enhanced massage functions, improved sound insulation and a 17 speaker Burmester 3D Surround Sound System with Dolby Atmos.

The refreshed 2027 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 680 is expected to arrive in dealerships later this year. Maybach has yet to announce official pricing, which will be confirmed closer to launch.
