Nissan has introduced the Terrano PHEV Concept, signaling a potential return of the Terrano nameplate with a modern electrified twist. The concept blends rugged SUV styling with plug-in hybrid technology, hinting at a future production model aimed at balancing off-road capability with improved efficiency.

The exterior design leans heavily into a tough, adventure-ready look. A bold front fascia, squared-off proportions, and high ground clearance give the Terrano a more utilitarian presence compared to Nissan’s current SUV lineup. Sharp LED lighting, muscular fenders, and protective cladding further reinforce its off-road-focused character, while still maintaining a contemporary edge.
Under the skin, the concept features a plug-in hybrid powertrain, combining an internal combustion engine with electric motors to deliver both efficiency and versatility. While Nissan hasn’t disclosed full performance figures, the setup is expected to provide enough power for challenging terrain while enabling limited all-electric driving for urban use.

Inside, the cabin adopts a modern yet functional approach. Durable materials are paired with a digital interface, offering a balance between practicality and technology. The layout suggests a focus on usability, making it suitable for both daily driving and outdoor adventures.
Although still a concept, the Terrano PHEV points to Nissan’s broader strategy of expanding its electrified SUV lineup while reviving familiar nameplates. If it reaches production, it could slot in as a rugged, partially electric alternative in the brand’s global portfolio.
