Fresh photos shared exclusively with us by @vw.buddiescy capture a camouflaged BMW i3 Connected Test Vehicle undergoing public road testing in Berlin. Although the all electric sedan has already been officially unveiled, BMW continues to validate the model under real world conditions ahead of its wider market rollout.

The vehicle, photographed while charging at a public charging station, carries BMW AG “Connected Test Vehicle” markings and remains covered in the brand’s signature camouflage. Manufacturers often continue testing production vehicles after their reveal to evaluate software, charging performance, battery management and driver assistance systems in everyday driving environments.
Despite the camouflage, the test vehicle clearly showcases the Neue Klasse inspired proportions, with a sleek three box sedan profile, slim LED lighting elements, flush body surfaces and aerodynamic styling. The i3 is one of the first production models built on BMW’s next generation Neue Klasse platform, introducing sixth generation eDrive technology, an 800 volt electrical architecture and significantly improved charging speeds and efficiency.
BMW has confirmed the new i3 will play a key role in the brand’s next generation of electric vehicles, combining a completely redesigned digital experience with enhanced performance, range and sustainability.
These exclusive photos offer another look at BMW’s continued development programme as the company prepares the i3 for customers around the world.
