Mercedes-AMG has officially set a date for one of its most significant new model yet. The brand’s first SUV developed from the ground up on its dedicated AMG.EA electric architecture will make its world debut on October 17, 2026, in Stuttgart.

The new model will be unveiled during Mercedes-Benz’s 140th anniversary celebrations at the Mercedes-Benz Museum, marking the next major step in AMG’s transition into the electric performance era.

Unlike AMG versions of existing Mercedes SUVs, the new model has been developed around AMG’s own high performance electric architecture from the beginning. It will become only the second production model based on AMG.EA, following the new electric AMG GT 4 Door Coupé.

That relationship has already raised expectations. The GT 4 Door uses three axial flux electric motors and delivers up to 1,169 hp, but Mercedes-AMG has not confirmed that the SUV will receive the same specification. Its final power output, battery capacity, range and performance figures remain under wraps.

The SUV will share the GT 4 Door’s basic technological philosophy, while adopting a much more practical body and higher driving position. Early teasers also suggest styling heavily influenced by the electric GT, with a distinctive AMG front end and performance focused proportions.

Production is planned at Mercedes-Benz’s Sindelfingen plant in Germany, with the first customer deliveries expected in early 2027.

For AMG, this is more than another electric model. It represents the first time Affalterbach has developed an SUV around its own dedicated EV

architecture, and October 17 will reveal just how far AMG is prepared to push electric performance.
