Lexus has confirmed that the IS sedan will continue into the 2027 model year, with strong demand helping keep the sports sedan in production. The highlight is a limited special edition finished in an exclusive Envious green paint.
The special edition combines the green exterior with black seats featuring contrasting green stitching. Every example comes with black 19 inch BBS wheels and Lexus’ Handling Package as standard. Rear wheel drive versions also receive a Torsen limited slip differential.
The 2027 IS350 continues with a 3.5 litre naturally aspirated V6 producing 311 hp, paired with an eight speed automatic in rear wheel drive models or a six speed automatic when equipped with all wheel drive.
Lexus has already simplified the IS range for the current generation. The V8 powered IS500 and entry level IS300 were dropped, leaving the IS350 as the sole powertrain.
Production of the Envious special edition will be limited to 350 examples, exclusively for North America. Pricing has yet to be announced, with the first cars expected to reach dealerships in early 2027.
For European buyers, however, there is little to celebrate. The IS is not currently offered in Europe, meaning this latest special edition will remain out of reach for customers on this side of the Atlantic.
With the IS continuing despite previous expectations that its production would end, Lexus is giving North American enthusiasts another opportunity to enjoy its traditional rear wheel drive sports sedan formula.
