Kumo Carbon is back with another bold interpretation of BMW’s Neue Klasse design language, this time turning its attention to the upcoming X5. Following the company’s custom take on the next-generation M3, Kumo has now previewed what it calls the Kumo Neue Klasse X5 M60e.
The new concept was revealed alongside Kumo’s Neue Klasse M3, giving us an early look at how the company envisions BMW’s next-generation SUV with a more aggressive and distinctive appearance.
While BMW’s production X5 is still being developed, Kumo’s interpretation pushes the design further with sharper styling elements and a more performance-focused stance. The concept appears to retain the core proportions of the upcoming X5 while adding Kumo’s own visual identity and more muscular details.
The project follows Kumo Carbon’s earlier Neue Klasse M3 concept, which attracted significant attention after the company presented its alternative interpretation of BMW’s next-generation performance sedan. Kumo describes its work as a way of refining automotive design, with its latest X5 showing how the same approach can be applied to BMW’s larger SUV.
For now, the X5 remains a digital design study rather than a production vehicle, and Kumo has not announced whether the concept will eventually translate into an aftermarket body kit or other physical components.
Still, with the Neue Klasse family set to expand rapidly across BMW’s lineup, Kumo Carbon is already showing us what a more aggressive interpretation of the brand’s next-generation design could look like.
