What Could the Toyota GR GT Cost in Cyprus? Here’s Our Estimate

Toyota’s highly anticipated GR GT has generated a massive excitement among performance car enthusiasts. Inspired by Toyota Gazoo Racing’s GT3 motorsport program, the road going coupe represents one of the most ambitious and extreme performance cars ever associated with the Toyota brand.

While the car will officially wear a Toyota “GR” badge globally, reports indicate it will be sold through select premium Lexus dealerships to match the high end boutique buying experience required for a vehicle of this caliber. Positioned well above Toyota’s current performance lineup, the GR GT is designed to compete directly with elite track focused sports cars from brands such as Porsche, Mercedes-AMG, and Aston Martin.

Industry reports place the global base price for the production GR GT at approximately $225,000 USD (roughly €200,000 before country specific taxes). However, a final on the road price for the Cyprus market will likely be significantly higher once local import costs, dealer margins, and local taxation structures are added.

For Cyprus, a realistic estimate would easily push the final on the road price into the region of €260,000 to €320,000+. This sharp increase is heavily driven by the Republic of Cyprus’s 19% VAT, alongside steep emissions based registration taxes.

The car justifies its premium pricing through advanced engineering. Unlike traditional road cars modified for the track, the GR GT was developed from the ground up as a race car first. It features a bespoke, lightweight aluminum space frame platform and a high performance 4.0 liter twin turbo hybrid V8 engine producing massive horsepower. Combined with extreme, wind tunnel tested aerodynamics, it brings genuine GT3 racing technology directly to the street.

Such pricing makes the GR GT by far the most expensive production vehicle ever offered with a Toyota badge, exceeding models like the GR Supra and GR Yaris by a massive margin. Because of this, demand among wealthy collectors and track enthusiasts will be fiercely competitive. Rather than placing a strict cap on total production numbers, Toyota intends to restrict annual production volume and strictly vet buyers to ensure the cars go to true enthusiasts, making it an instant collector’s item.

For now, Cyprus enthusiasts will have to watch the order books as production draws closer. Until then, any local pricing remains a calculated estimate but if a GR GT does arrive on Cypriot roads, it will represent one of the most exclusive, high tech, and expensive automotive flagships ever seen on the island.
