Volkswagen has unveiled the ID Polo, a compact electric hatchback designed to bring EV technology to a more accessible price point. Positioned below the ID.2, the new model targets urban drivers and younger buyers looking for a practical, budget-friendly electric option.

The ID Polo features a clean and modern design, with compact proportions suited for city driving. Smooth body lines, slim lighting elements, and a simplified front end give it a contemporary EV look while maintaining Volkswagen’s familiar design identity. Its small footprint is balanced by smart packaging to maximize interior space.
Built on Volkswagen’s MEB platform, the ID Polo focuses on efficiency and usability. While full specifications are still limited, the model is expected to offer competitive range figures for its segment along with fast-charging capability, making it practical for both daily commutes and occasional longer trips.

Inside, the cabin follows a minimalist approach with a strong emphasis on digital interfaces. A central touchscreen handles most functions, reducing physical buttons, while the layout is designed to feel open and user-friendly despite the car’s compact size.
The ID Polo is expected to play a key role in Volkswagen’s strategy to expand its electric lineup at the lower end of the market. A European launch is anticipated later this decade, with pricing aimed at making EV ownership more accessible to a wider audience.
