Mercedes-Benz is preparing an updated version of its combustion engined C-Class, bringing fresh styling, upgraded technology and further efficiency improvements to the brand’s popular executive sedan and estate. The update arrives alongside the newly introduced electric C-Class, giving Mercedes customers a choice between combustion, hybrid and fully electric powertrains.
The most noticeable changes come at the front, where the C-Class adopts elements of Mercedes-Benz’s latest design language. Revised lighting signatures, updated grille detailing and a more prominent three pointed star give the sedan and estate a fresher appearance, while the rear receives more subtle changes.
Inside, Mercedes retains the familiar C-Class cabin architecture but introduces the latest generation of its infotainment software and additional artificial intelligence functions. Navigation and connected services gain enhanced capabilities, while software updates can increasingly be delivered over the air. Revised steering wheel controls and updated trim options round out the interior changes.
The powertrain range continues to centre around electrified petrol and diesel engines, with mild hybrid assistance available across the lineup and plug-in hybrid versions offering the ability to cover everyday journeys on electric power alone. Mercedes is also continuing to develop its combustion engines to meet increasingly stringent European emissions regulations.
