European Taycan Buyers Spared as Porsche Drops Wagon Variants in US Market

Porsche has chosen to discontinue the Taycan Sport Turismo and Cross Turismo models in the United States with the arrival of the updated 2027 Taycan range. The decision leaves the standard Taycan sedan as the sole body style available to American buyers, reflecting limited demand for the wagon variants in one of the brand’s most important markets.

Sales figures illustrate the challenges facing the Taycan in the U.S. Porsche sold 7,570 examples in 2023, but deliveries fell to 4,747 in 2024 and declined further to 4,142 in 2025. Early 2026 data points to continued weakness, with 607 units delivered during the first quarter compared with 1,019 during the same period a year earlier. Against that backdrop, maintaining three separate body styles for the model appears to have become increasingly difficult to justify.

The move marks the second time Porsche has removed a wagon from its American lineup, following the discontinuation of the Panamera Sport Turismo. As a result, the German manufacturer no longer offers a wagon-bodied vehicle in the U.S. market.

European buyers, however, will continue to have access to the practical Turismo variants. Both the Sport Turismo and Cross Turismo remain part of the Taycan range in Europe, preserving an option that has proven popular among enthusiasts seeking additional cargo space and everyday usability without sacrificing performance.

While the Taycan sedan continues to evolve with updates for the 2027 model year, the departure of the Turismo models from the U.S. market represents the end of a distinctive chapter for Porsche’s electric lineup. For European customers, however, the wagon-shaped Taycan remains very much alive.
