BMW is updating its flagship sedan for 2027 with subtle styling revisions, a broader trim lineup, and clear influence from its Neue Klasse design language, which is already shaping the brand’s latest generation of models. The changes don’t amount to a full redesign, but they show how BMW is gradually aligning even its largest sedan with this new direction.

The exterior updates reflect that shift. Up front, the split-headlight arrangement is refined with slimmer daytime running lights and cleaner graphics, while the kidney grille adopts a more streamlined, modern look. The overall front fascia appears simpler and more structured, echoing Neue Klasse themes. Along the sides, new wheel designs and trim details freshen the profile, while the rear features updated taillight signatures and a cleaner bumper layout, giving the car a more cohesive and contemporary finish.
Under the hood, the range remains diverse. The 740i continues with a turbocharged inline-six producing 375 hp, while the 760i xDrive uses a twin-turbo V8 delivering 536 hp. Electrified variants remain central, with the i7 eDrive50 offering 449 hp, the i7 xDrive60 producing 536 hp, and the i7 M70 xDrive topping the lineup at 650 hp.

Inside, the focus stays on luxury and technology, with premium materials. The influence of Neue Klasse is also visible in the cleaner digital interface and more minimalistic layout.
Pricing starts at around €97,000 and climbs to approximately €168,500 for the range-topping i7 M70 xDrive. The update positions the 7 Series as a bridge between BMW’s current lineup and its evolving Neue Klasse design era.
