Porsche has expanded its customer motorsport range with the new 911 Challenge, a track-only race car designed to lower the barrier to competitive racing while retaining the character of the 911 GT3.

The car uses a naturally aspirated 4.0 litre flat-six producing 515 PS at 8,500 rpm, with a 9,000 rpm redline. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven speed PDK dual clutch gearbox with paddle shifters.

Designed to be approachable for developing racers, the 911 Challenge features adjustable ABS, traction control, ESC and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus. The chassis receives Cup derived dampers, adjustable anti roll bars, 18 inch racing slicks and 380 mm steel brakes shared with the 911 GT4 R.

Track equipment includes an integrated three point air jack system, FIA rain light, quick release bonnet fasteners and a four position rear wing. Inside, road car comforts have been stripped away for a welded roll cage, six point harness, fire extinguishing system and a 110 litre FT3 fuel tank. The car is not road homologated.

The 911 Challenge succeeds the Cayman GT4 Clubsport and 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, becoming Porsche’s new entry level customer racing model below the GT4 R, 911 Cup and GT3 R.

It will be eligible for one make racing series worldwide from the 2027 season, with Porsche listing the car at €208,800 plus country specific VAT.
